As a key university affiliated with Beijing Municipality, Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB) was established in 1956. It offers six major disciplines: Economics, Management, Law, Literature, Science, and Engineering, with Economics and Management as its distinctive strengths. The university currently offers 48 undergraduate programs (specializations), including 7 broad categories of admission. Twenty-five programs have been recognized as national first-class undergraduate programs, and 14 have been designated as first-class programs in Beijing. Four programs—Accounting, Finance, Economics, and Business Administration—have been selected as top-tier programs for key construction among universities in Beijing. CUEB has signed inter-university cooperation agreements with 180 universities and research institutions in 38 countries and regions. The university has been approved for several high-level international talent training projects, including the Innovation and Practice Base for International Talent Cultivation, the Global Competency Talent Training Program for Young Leaders, the Sino-foreign cooperative program in Statistics with the University of Arizona (4+0), and the Innovation Base for Financial Technology and Econometrics. This has led to the development of a multi-disciplinary, multi-level international talent training system, with a strong focus on Economics and Management. Since 1986, CUEB has been admitting international students and has trained more than 20,000 students from over 90 countries and regions. The university continues to expand its openness to international education.
