The University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) is a university directly under the Ministry of Education and jointly built by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Commerce. It is among the first batch of universities included in the national “Double First-Class” initiative and the “211 Project.” UIBE has a long history and is the first higher education institution in New China to train professionals in foreign trade, founded in 1951. It is often said that “wherever there is trade in the world, there are UIBE graduates.” The university has distinct advantages in its disciplines, offering 55 undergraduate programs, 12 first-level discipline master’s programs, 12 professional master’s programs, 7 first-level discipline doctoral programs, and 7 post-doctoral research stations, covering six major academic fields: economics, management, law, literature, science, and engineering.The university hosts the national “Double First-Class” discipline in Applied Economics, two national key disciplines (International Trade and International Law), and seven key disciplines in Beijing (Applied Economics, Law, Business Administration, Accounting, World Economy, Law and Economics, and Low-Carbon Economics). It also has a “Digital Trade” high-precision discipline in Beijing. Currently, more than 2,500 international students from over 160 countries and regions study at UIBE, with over 2,200 of them pursuing degrees and over 300 enrolled in language and various advanced programs. In addition, numerous groups and students come to UIBE every year for short-term training and visits. At UIBE, they not only improve their Chinese language skills but, more importantly, learn and master solid professional knowledge related to China’s culture, economy, and trade. Many graduates have become key forces in cultural exchange and business trade with China.
