1. University Introduction
Xi’an International Studies University (XISU) is one of the first foreign language institutions in New China and the only university in Northwest China offering a comprehensive range of foreign languages. Founded in 1951, it merged programs from Lanzhou University and Northwest University, and began training undergraduate foreign language talents. Renamed in 1958 and again in 2006, XISU started offering graduate programs in 1979, gained PhD-granting status in 2013, and established a postdoctoral research station in 2014. With 72 years of development, XISU is a key base for foreign language education in Western China.
